In Mattock, you play miners digging corridors through the rock. You can't dig too closely together though, or the mine will collapse. To win, trap your opponent so they run out of space to mine.

Hex-hex-5, three miners each (size-5).

Starting miner positions are shuffled (random).

Players take turns placing miners with no two adjacent. After all miners are down, player 2 passes once so player 1 mines first (freestyle).

• Current engine version: 20260503 (2026-05-03). Fixed the size-7 start (a miner that belonged on e1 had been on d1). On Abstract Play since 2024-01-07.

• A hide blocked display option turns off highlights of cells that cannot be mined.
